About our goods…
SOY CANDLES
Soy candles burn longer and cooler than paraffin candles by 30-50%.
Unlike Soy, paraffin candles are also a petroleum-based product and likely more detrimental to the environment.
Soy candles are easy to clean up if spilled with hot and soapy water.
Because they are slow burning, our candles gradually release their fragrances.
Soy wax lends itself to the support of farmers and sustainable agriculture. Soy is a plant, not a man made substance.
WAX MELTS
Wax melts have a longer and more efficient burn time than a candle.
They absorb heat slowly, releasing aromas without burning off fragrance.
Wax melts are cheaper.
Wax melts are flame free and safer. Most wax melting apparatus are heated by a small light bulb.
No chemicals are released when burning.
Wax melts generate no soot (think of the black residue left after a fire).
CANDLE BURN TIMES…
Approximate burn times for our candles vary. This is assuming you burn in sessions that are appropriate for the candle size and allow for a full wax melt each burn. Also note, if you do not trim your wick before each burn, you are bound to decrease your overall burn time. Happy burning.
2 oz. Clear Glass Jar - 10-12 hrs.
4 oz. Tin - 25 hrs.
16 oz. Clear Glass Jar - 70+ hrs.
SAFETY TIPS…
Please do not leave candle burning unattended.
Keep candles out of the reach of small children and pets.
Always burn on a heat resistant surface.
Do not touch or move candle with visible (liquid) hot wax.
Keep burning candles away from drafts, vents, and ceiling fans to minimize smoking or a wick blowing out causing the candle to burn unevenly.
Make sure candle is completely extinguished and the wick no longer glows before leaving the room.
Things customers may ask…
WHY DOES MY CANDLE LOOK LIKE IT HAS “WET SPOTS” OR IS “FROSTY”?
These are NOT flaws in the candles but natural characteristics of pure soy wax and is actually a testament to the lack of paraffin and preservatives in soy candles. Neither of these characteristics, in any way, affect the scent throw or burning properties of the candles.
WHAT’S COOL ABOUT COTTON WICKS?
Cotton wicks are high quality, have a cotton wrapped paper core, and provide a clean, easy, and traditional type of burn. Cotton wicks provide a low maintenance way to enjoy your favorite candle fragrance and create the perfect ambiance for your favorite spaces.
SHOULD I TRIM THE WICK AFTER BURNING?
The simple answer is yes. After the candle has cooled down of course, please trim your wick to about a ¼”. Cotton Wicks burn best with frequent attention to keeping your wick to the right length. Burn times will be increased with proper care.
WHEN SHOULD I DISCARD MY CANDLE?
Never...But, when there is approximately 1/4” of wax left on the bottom of your candle you should discontinue use and repurpose the container. We would love to know what you do with your repurposed tins and jars - tag us on social media - @865candlecompany.
